Your colleague, friend, or family member has made a recent Commitment to build a new habit and they have identified you as someone they think would be a great support to their success*.  1. If you've been invited to be an Accountability Buddy, you'll receive an invitation from your Buddy directly by email, text message, or their preferred messaging platform. 2. You'll be prompted to confirm or create your account. If you already have an account, you can login using the link on the screen. Or, you can complete the registration to create your Buddy account.  4. You'll be able to select the method (email, text, WhatsApp) and the time of day you'll receive prompts to check-in on your Buddy's commitment.    ![](https://knowledge.actionable.co/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Jul-25-2023-09-29-56-4929-PM.png?width=554&height=363&name=image-png-Jul-25-2023-09-29-56-4929-PM.png) ![](https://knowledge.actionable.co/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Jan-24-2025-06-39-49-0177-PM.png?width=520&height=476&name=image-png-Jan-24-2025-06-39-49-0177-PM.png) If you already have an account with this same email address (i.e. from your own Commitment), you'll receive your Buddy invite via your primary contact method (email or text), and instead of creating an account, you'll be able to login to your Dashboard, where you'll see both your own Commitment and any Buddy Commitments you've accepted.   ### Buddy Notifications 1. Once you've accepted the invite to be a Buddy, and set up or confirmed your account, you'll be asked to set your notification details. 2. You'll receive notifications on every 3rd notification that the participant receives - based on the participant's set notification days. For example, if they set their notification for Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, you'll receive a reminder to check-in on their Commitment on the Friday.   *![](https://knowledge.actionable.co/hubfs/image-png-3.png)* ### Completing Buddy Check-ins 1. When you receive a reminder notification, you can click on the link and you'll be taken to your Check-in screen. 2. On the Check-in screen, you can enter a rating (out of 10), and then add a comment about your rating, with feedback and encouragement for your Buddy. 1. You'll see the details of your Buddy's activity, including their check-ins, rating, and journal notes. 2. Your feedback and ratings can be based on your own observations, or based on conversations you've had with the Participant, or from the activity and ratings you can review.   3. Once you've added a rating and a comment, click "Check-in" and you're done! You can also login to your Dashboard and complete a Buddy Check-in anytime (to a maximum of once per day). ![](https://knowledge.actionable.co/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Jul-21-2023-02-21-07-0469-PM.png?width=490&height=390&name=image-png-Jul-21-2023-02-21-07-0469-PM.png) ### Adjust Notifications or Stop Being a Buddy If you need to change where or when you receive your notifications, you can login to your dashboard (using the link in your notification) and adjust this anytime. 1. Select your Buddy commitment from your "My Commitments" list 2. Scroll down until you see "Notification Settings" 3. Click the notification item you'd like to change.  If for any reason you no longer wish to be a Buddy, you can login anytime, scroll down to the "Quit Being a Buddy" section.
