The Actionable Slack App is an optional feature that may be enabled for your program so you can receive your commitment nudges and notifications via Slack, rather than email or SMS.
Enabling Slack Notifications
The Actionable Slack App can be enabled in your Actionable Account Settings. Enabling Slack as your notification method for your Account will overwrite any preferred notification choices on active and future commitments. If you've usually been receiving SMS notifications, those will switch to Slack notifications.
If you are a new Actionable user, you will need to create your first Commitment and define either SMS or Email as your preferred notification method. Then, follow the steps below to enable Slack instead.
- Log in to Actionable.
- Click on the avatar in the top right-hand corner to access your account profile. Then, click "Account Settings."
- If Slack is enabled, you'll see an "Add to Slack" button. Select it.
- Once "Add to Slack" is selected, you'll need to confirm the installation of the Actionable Slack App. You will either be able to install the app directly, or you'll need request permission from your Slack Administrator.
- Once Slack is enabled on your Account, you'll receive a Slack message from Actionable confirming that you've successfully enabled the Actionable Slack App. This will show as “Actionable” under the “Apps section” in the sidebar.
Using Slack for Actionable
If you have an active Commitment, it will deliver a nudge at your preferred notification time. Follow the link in that notification to check- in on your commitment.
Disabling the Actionable Slack App
If you don't want to receive notifications via Slack anymore, you will need to disable Slack in your Account Settings:
- Log in to Actionable.
- Click on the avatar in the top right-hand corner. Then, click "Account Settings."
- Click "Disconnect from Slack."
