How Do I Set Up a Module in Another Language?

Your Participants can experience Habit Builder in their preferred language by adding additional translations to your Modules.

Article Quick Links:

Creating a Multi-lingual Module

You can create Modules with second language features in one of two ways:

  1. At Program Creation: When you create your Program using the Program Wizard, you'll be prompted to select languages from available options, which currently include French and Spanish. This will designate all of your Modules with second language features.
  2. Directly in your Program: When you add a new Module or set up an inactive Module, you click the "add language" option.

Adding Translated Content to your Module

You'll need to set up your content in English before you can set up the next language. This can only be done on a Module that is not Active.

Steps:

  1. On your Module click "+ Add Language" (or you'll see the specific language, if you set this up when creation you Program, and can click that).
  2. Select the language you would like to add - if not already set.
  3. Select the second language and you will be taken to the Logistics Tab for the Translated version.
  4. Enter the translated Module name here.
  5. Go through each tab that contains English Content and include the translated content in those sections. (You'll see the English version as a reference for each field).
    1. On the Prep and Host Materials tabs you can upload any translated documents.
    2. Questions, Commitments, and Broadcast tabs all have sections where you can translate the text along side the English initial version.
      1. Questions
      2. Commitments
  6. Once all translated content has been added, click Activate.
  7. Your Module will now be available to participants in their preferred language.

How Participants Access Habit Builder in their Preferred Language

If your Module is enabled with a second language, Participants will see a Language selector  when they start the Commitment Creation Process.

QR Code and Direct Link

When participants scan the QR code or click the Direct Link, they will be directed to a Language Selector, then redirected to the correct session url for their preferred language.

Start Link and Session ID

When participants use https://start.actionable.co to enter their Session ID, they will see the Language Selector on the screen and if they select a different language, they will be re-directed to the correct start page and session url for their preferred language.

Leader-Led Conversation Hosts

When you create Host accounts, you'll need to select the preferred language in their profile, or ensure the "locale" field column is completed with the correct language code when you add Hosts to your program via Bulk Upload

Valid locale options are:

  • 'en-US' for US English

  • 'fr-CA' for Canadian French

  •  'es-LA' for Spanish

  •  'pt-BR' for Brazilian Portuguese

Once the preferred language is assigned, they will automatically receive their notifications and view the platform in their own language.
